Pinentry password manager regression

Hi, not sure if this is the right place, but here goes.
My distribution has recently updated from pinentry 1.2.1 to 1.3.1 in nixos
24.11.
I was using the gtk2 version of pinentry, which allowed integration with a
password manager (the other ones didn't). This allowed me to skip the
pinentry prompt and instead get a prompt from keepassxc, which stores the
private key password.
1.3.1 has a regression:
https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/361151
To summarize, the checkbox that allowed opening the password manager on
prompt is gone, and I now have to manually copy the password in the
clipboard, which is less convenient and potentially less secure.
My request is that this checkbox and related functionality is added back if
possible. Potentially it could also be useful for the other pinentry's to
have this so people on a default KDE or Gnome distribution could use this
feature.
