How about a compromise between the two positions, and make the
GPG_AGENT_INFO variable optional: if the variable is not set, the
default is to use /tmp/gnupg-<user> or something.
Although perhaps a directory is more flexible, thus for example
/tmp/gnupg-<user>/agent-socket.
