I'm encountering this while doing a nettle-4.0 upgrade in Yocto/oe-core from:

https://git.openembedded.org/openembedded-core/tree/meta/recipes-support/nettle/nettle_3.10.2.bb

I guess the nettle-4.0 update will have to wait for our next release since we're at feature freeze in early March. I know that's not your problem, just FYI.
