`cppcheck --force -Igl/ -Ilib/ lib/x509/verify-high.c` reproduces the error for me, `-E` reveals [what it thinks it preprocesses into](https://gitlab.com/-/snippets/3712311). That is, a [horrendous horror](https://github.com/coreutils/gnulib/blob/0a301c5267edd935e8b6161cfe4f36218d9df694/lib/intprops-internal.h#L260) instead of a [neat builtin](https://github.com/coreutils/gnulib/blob/0a301c5267edd935e8b6161cfe4f36218d9df694/lib/intprops-internal.h#L152). cppcheck thinks horrendous horror contains signed overflows.

IDK what to do about it. Suppress? Try to sway it towards expanding into the neat builtin?
