That would certainly make sense, though it's unlikely to happen until someone comes up with a patch. If you are willing to work on it, that would be awesome.
There are a couple of related issues: #1052 is about using KTLS without modification to GnuTLS, and #308 is about adding support for AF_ALG as an acceleration of crypto algorithms.
