Problem with the GnuPG - gen-key

That looks like a modified version of an old GnuPG 1 version from 2009.
Please do not use such an old version.  The current 1.4 version 1.4.23
From this year.

Seems you are using a non standard shell on that box or you didn't
copied the entire transcript of your session.
