Kristian, thanks for your detailed instructions.
However it is not my intention to debug and to fix it.
I wondered whether I, as a user, was doing something wrong.
By the way, it has an easy workaround. Instead of using:
gpg2 --fetch-keys uri-1 uri-2
I can do:
wget -q uri-1 uri-2
gpg2 --import *
