To the best of my knowledge, this would indeed not pose a problem at all.

Note that exporting a private key with 2.1 prompts the user to enter the
passphrase for the key. This is different from how earlier versions did it. The
reason is a technical one: the local storage is in a different format than the
export, and hence the passphrase is needed to decrypt the local storage, convert
the format and then re-encrypt the export. As far as I can see, it doesn't
matter whether the passphrase is already cached or not: I am always prompted for
export.
