  Yes... they think 6 Gb of storage means there is no need to delete
messages anymore... but a few plain text messages can clutter the
inbox???  I wanted to tell them a few thing about that "feature", but I
never found a way to send my opinion to gmail, instead of a user-based
help list... other users are not likely to be able to do something about
it...

  If you login to gmail through the browser, instead of using the mail
client, you will see it... I don't know if using IMAP the folder is
available too in the mail client...

check those settings again...
