I just had to rise to the bait.  PGP/MIME is a function of the MUA, not 
of the encryption system used (GPG or PGP), and with the majority of 
PGP/GPG compliant MUAs NOT recognising PGP/MIME, how can it be "the 
right way".

No matter what I would like, if my encrypted or signed message cannot 
be decrypted or verified the other end, its pointless sending it.
