<div>&gt;&gt; Subject: errors and misc.</div>
<div>&gt;&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; I am using script to automate some gpg functions for
interserver</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; communications..and I am running into a few
problems...</div>
<div>&gt;&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; I am getting invalid packet errors on occasions when
verifying</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; signed files...this seems to be random occuring
problem.</div>
<div>&gt;&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; Also, is there a way I can force GPG to never ask for
user</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; input...like if it needs me to verify something it either
does yes</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; or just fails...besides --batch.&nbsp; Randomly the gpg
process will hang</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; around.&nbsp; Im assuming waiting for user input...but
since it is run in</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; the background I cant really put input.&nbsp;&nbsp; These
cases dont happen</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; that often so its not worth me manually doing it to
reproduce</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; it...maybe once every 1000 uses.</div>
<div>&gt;&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; Any other automation information not in the manual would
be</div>
<div>&gt;&gt; apreciated.</div>

<div>&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;Courtney,</div>
<div>&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;Not sure about your earlier questions, I'm afraid, but I'd guess
that</div>
<div>&gt;the people who would be able to help might need more information
to be</div>
<div>&gt;able to track down the problem...&nbsp; There is a verbose mode
(-vv) which</div>
<div>&gt;lists absolutely everything GPG does, that might help.</div>
<div>&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;GPG also has &quot;assume yes&quot; and &quot;assume no&quot;
options.&nbsp; If you take a look</div>
<div>&gt;at gpg --help (one of my favorites&nbsp; :)&nbsp; you'll see
that the options</div>
<div>&gt;include:</div>
<div>&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
--batch&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
batch mode: never ask</div>
<div>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
--yes&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
assume yes on most questions</div>
<div>&gt;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
--no&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
assume no on most questions</div>
<div>&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;If that doesn't help, I can only suggest looking through the man
pages</div>
<div>&gt;or asking here again, with a little more information about
which</div>
<div>&gt;specific messages are being interactive.</div>
<div>&gt;</div>
<div>&gt;HTH,</div>

<br>
<div>It is hanging on encrypting, unencrypting, and verifying files...I have used the --batch command with assume yes and 99% of the time this works fine.&nbsp; The service hangs on occasion though.&nbsp; I can kill the process BUT, since it is running in the background I cannot tell what user input it is waiting on..</div>
<br>
<div>The manual does not have a solution for this.&nbsp; Is there an option that if there is any requested input or a problem, that the program just exits instead of sitting there.&nbsp; I would rather the program exit than hang for user input locking the keyrings.</div>
