this is the configuration I used on our AIX machines:

    ./configure  --prefix=/usr/local/appl/gnupg-1.0.6 \
                 --enable-static-rnd=egd '--with-egd-socket=~/.gnupg/entropy' \
                 --disable-dynload

And it worked  :-)
