PGP: Invalid key ?

In this case "invalid" means "not connected to you via the web of
trust".  Did you export both the secret and public keys?  (Having the
secret key there makes the public key ultimately trusted)

If not, then signing the key with an ultimately trusted key (even
signing it non-exportably) will make the key valid in PGP's eyes.
