I sent a similar message and recieved a response to use a new version
of mc-gpg.el.  I will attach the message I recieved.  Thanks to Brian

I've been pondering that. From the SEMI code I looked at, it seemed like they
were calling some internal mailcrypt functions and then rearranging the output
to manage the multipart/signed message. I was thinking we could make their
lives easier by providing some functions to, say, generate a detached
signature as a string instead of modifying a buffer directly, etc. I wrote up
some notes on it.. I'll look around and see if I can find them.

Known bug in mailcrypt-3.5.4 when used against gnupg-1.0 . I have a
replacement mc-gpg.el on my web site at <http://www.lothar.com/tech/crypto/>.
I've submitted it to Len for the next mailcrypt release. Let me know if you
have any problems with it.
