hm, patches that change character encodings don't survive e-mail
particularly well.

This series is published as cleanup-2016-09-22 on
https://anonscm.debian.org/git/pkg-gnupg/gpgme.git, which should
currently have commit ID 277cb01f4e379b454c419ccd467e2007eae4038a.

Feel free to pull it safely and sanely from there.
