Hello everybody,
I'm new to the list, because I want to contribute improvements to the
excellent and important tool that is gnupg.
I am new to a lot of the tools and practices involved in this kind of
project, so please forgive me for the mistakes I have and will make and
the dumb questions that will result.
For example, I can tell you i spent several long sessions trying to figure
out why gnupg would insist that I needed libgpg-error version 1.11 or
newer, even though I had version 1.9 (which I thought was clearly newer
than 1.11). Now I know better.
But I am finally able to compile gnupg from the latest git pull, albeit
without gpgtar, nls, and doc (i will explain why if asked)
So now I would like to make improvements, and submit them for review by
the maintainers in the most convenient (for the maintainers) way possible.
Should I create a repository on github, and post my commits there, or
should I ask for a respoitory on git.gnupg.org ?? I really don't know
what is correct in this situation.
Please feel free to educate me about anything you think I have missed, on
or off list is fine. I look forward to contributing in a helpful way.
thanks
