Could you please tell me why? Because it might be important to us.
I'm currently working for YOCTO (http://www.yoctoproject.org/) and 
someone suggests that we provide a unified  interface to query packages 
in our system.  So, I'd really appreciate it if you could give me some 
more information about this.
