batch signing of keys

Could I make a plea (or rather repeat a plea that
comes 
up from time to time on this list) that a "batch mode"

for key signing should be added to gngnupg It is very
difficult to script the current bebehavioureven with
the 
status-fdfdnd command-fdfdptions (which are not fully
documented).

Obviously, this would require a few extra command line
options: a "expire this signature at this time"
option, a "signature mode" option, and a "sign
uiuidsatching this regular expression" option.  Or
something like that.
