Hi,
Can somebody give me a quick run-down on compiling GnuPG on Win98? I've gone
over the site, but can't find instructions (except on the Download page,
where it mentions that a special setup is needed).
I have downloaded MSYS (v.1.0.8) and MinGW (v.2.0.0-3 and the upgrade to
2.4), but compiling it as normal doesn't work.
I'm working with the GnuPG source from
ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/GnuPG/gnupg/gnupg-1.2.1.tar.gz
./configure works.
make works for a while, but gives "warning: "SIZEOF_UNSIGNED_SHORT"
redefined", which seems odd.
Eventually, make fails on a .a file (if I run make again, it fails on a
different .a - first it was libzlib.a, the second time it was libutil.a)
with this output:
rm -f libutil.a
ar cru libutil.a g10u.o logger.o fileutil.o miscutil.o strgutil.o ttyio.o
argparse.o memory.o secmem.o errors.o iobuf.o dotlock.o http.o
simple-gettext.o w32reg.o
libutil.a
./libutil.a: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token `!<arch>'
./libutil.a: line 1: `!<arch>'
make[2]: *** [libutil.a] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/c/projects/gnupg-1.2.1/util'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/c/projects/gnupg-1.2.1'
make: *** [all] Error 2
This is running everything under MSYS (under COMMAND.COM, the configure
script can't even find gcc).
Any suggestions would be appreciated, or if someone can point me at a HOWTO
that would be great.
Peace,
Eddie Roosenmaallen
