Yes.  The name transformation needs to be internal, since not all
platforms have symlinks.  Expect big changes with that program.  It's
very experimental, and not even vaguely ready for actual use (it's not
even part of 'make dist').  I pretty much only checked it in so people
like you would beat on it a bit.. ;)
