Defective Sign & Encrypt in S/MIME, PKCS#7, MOSS, PEM, PGP, and XML

I have read this document on securityfocus.com. I know that this vulnerability is not
necessarily applicable all the time but is there any way to prevent from this type of
attack in the OpenPGP format?
