The uid 'Michael Schmitz <schmitz at biophys.uni-duesseldorf.de>' does not
have a self-signature. Because there exists another uid (with a valid
self-signature) GnuPG accepts/imports the public-key. Case there were no
other uids (with a valid self-signature), GnuPG would have refused to
import the key, with the message:

gpg: key XXXXXXXX: skipped user ID 'NON VALID'
gpg: key XXXXXXXX: no valid user IDs
gpg: this may be caused by a missing self-signature
gpg: Total number processed: 1
gpg:           w/o user IDs: 1
